The tutorials in this section address the calibration/matching procedure for different types of wells (gas, oil, retrograde condensate). Best practices and workflows are illustrated in the following tutorials.
PVT Black oil matching for an oil well model – PROSPER
This tutorial shows how to match a black oil PVT model in PROSPER using laboratory data. The importance of the PVT model is reviewed, and the matched PVT model is used in calculations.
Selecting and matching a multiphase flow correlation for an oil well model – PROSPER
Learn how to select and match the multiphase flow correlation using a well test. The multiphase flow correlations are fundamental to estimate flowing bottomhole pressures, and predict future conditions of the well, such as increased water cut.
Oil well model calibration review excercise – PROSPER
The user must generate the oil well model from scratch, and match it. Then the erosional velocity must be analyzed, and sensibility analysis performed to study how to reduce tubing erosion. Finally the user must generate and export VLP curves.
In this tutorial the well 1 previously constructed is calibrated. The calibration begins with the PVT matching, then a multiphase flow correlation is selected and matched and finally the IPR of the well is calibrated using well test data.
Electric-submersible pump well modelling – PROSPER
In this tutorial we are going to practice the modeling of an electrical submersible pump system. We will demonstrate how to enter the ESP pump performance curve in the PROSPER database and how to use the quick-look tool to calibrate the well model.
Learn the procedure to identify liquid loading issues in a gas well model. Learn how to model this type of wells and analyse different solutions to overcome the liquid loading issues.
In this tutorial we are going to demonstrate how to perform a gas lift design and obtain useful information such as the depth of the required mandrels, size and configuration of unloading valves and operating orifice.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the QuickLook feature to match a gas-lifted well, quality check data, and spot issues in the gas lift installation. The gas lift well is optimized with the help of the PROSPER model.
Annular and Tubing Flow Gas and Condensate well model – PROSPER
Construct a gas and condensate well model, obtain the expected gas production rate for a given well head pressure. Evaluate the performance of the well for tubing flow, annular flow and both.
Review the well model creation process of a gas well model. Match the model using different measurements, like dynamic gradients, incomplete tests and multirate tests.
Using PROSPER and Excel to estimate gas reserves – PROSPER
In this tutorial we will evaluate gas reserves using material balance concepts, such as the P/Z plot, and PROSPER to evaluate flow conditions at different reservoir pressures.
An oil well is producing from a single layer, a gas layer exists on top of it. The gas layer can be opened to provide some gas to act as an auto-gas lift system. Evaluate the performance of the entire system using the information provided.
