This is thermodynamic package developed to characterize the fluids in a consistent and robust approach. The characterized fluid can then be used by different applications such as an isothermal reservoir simulator or in a wellbore or surface pipelines where big temperature changes will greatly impact on the fluid properties. 
An equation of state model in PVTP can be used to predict flow assurance issues such as hydrates or wax deposition. Also an EoS can be used to estimate a compositional gradient in the reservoir and in a new discovery predict if a Gas Oil Contact exist.
